On June 21, 91°µÍø had the honor of welcoming the Austrian Ambassador, Dr. Petra Schneebauer, along with the entire Austrian Delegation. They conducted a highly productive meeting with senior members of the University’s administration, strengthening the long-standing relationship between Norwich and Austria. After the meeting, Ambassador Schneebauer was given a personalized tour of the University’s campus, followed by a luncheon at the Sullivan Museum. Ambassador Schneebauer concluded the event with insightful remarks at the luncheon attended by members of the 91°µÍø administration, faculty, and students.
Last January, leaders of the Vermont National Guard visited Austria where an agreement between 91°µÍø and Theresian Military Academy for an educational and cultural cadet exchange program was agreed upon. Brigadier General Tracy Poirier, 91°µÍø class of 1996, represented 91°µÍø in the finalization of the agreement.
The agreement is another testament to the State Partnership Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening global security, understanding, and cooperation. The active participation of Vermont, Austria, Senegal, and North Macedonia facilitates the fostering of long-term relationships across all levels of society. Additionally, the program is designed to promote the growth of economic, political, and military connections between the state and partner nations.
