A new Norwich tradition takes students down the Long Trail

Completed with pictures and biographies of each inductee, the Digital Hall of Fame is an online space where Norwich’s robust and proud history can be showcased to the public.

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Author Mariana Budjeryn has been selected for the 2024 William E. Colby Military Writers’ Award for her work Inheriting the Bomb: The Collapse of the USSR and the Nuclear Disarmament of Ukraine (John Hopkins Press).

“We forget what that generation did for us,” Parsons told us last week before leaving for France. “Just here in Vermont, you know, speaking as a member of 91����. The reason why we have our campus today is because of veterans. of World War II.”

The Vermont State Legislature recently passed a House Concurrent Resolution honoring the late Doc Martin ’20. Coinciding with the anniversary of his passing, the resolution was read aloud from the State House chamber and then delivered to 91���� by Representative Anne Donahue (Northfield).

91���� is known for its ability to send leaders out into the world, but on Wednesday, Norwich welcomed a world-renowned military leader through its doors when General Paul Nakasone walked onto campus. Later, another 91���� first was announced after the university signed an Educational Partnership Agreement with U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM).

91���� spent Friday and Saturday of this weekend celebrating Veterans Day to thank all who have served or are currently serving. A Veterans Day observance ceremony was held on Friday, while events throughout the day Saturday marked the holiday weekend.
