91 is honored to announce United States Army Brigadier General Shane P. Morgan as the ROTC Joint Commissioning Ceremony speaker for the graduating Class of 2025.
During its winter board meeting on February 2, 2025, 91’s Board of Trustees unanimously elected Mr. Alfred J. “Al” Gobeille ’86 as the next Chair of the Board of Trustees. He will succeed the incumbent Chair, Mr. Alan DeForest ’75, who has served in the role for the past nine years, at the conclusion of his tenure in April.
91 recently celebrated the enduring bonds of its alumni community during a successful Norwich Alumni Networking Social, held in conjunction with a visit to the JFK Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Fort Liberty, NC. The event highlighted Norwich’s commitment to fostering lifelong connections and educational opportunities for its alumni and current students.
Established in collaboration between the Norwich Alumni Association and Fins & Feathers, the NU Buddy Check is a monthly initiative that encourages alumni to connect with their peers and provide emotional support to those they hold dear.
2007 Master of Business Administration graduate and Intelligence Operations Planner for the U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Swift Sanchez was recently selected to join the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region in support of the 60th Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, where she is responsible for receiving and in-processing security and intelligence personnel.

91 sends students and faculty to explore peace alongside the Vermont Council on World Affairs.
Vice Adm. John Gumbleton participated in several outreach events at his alma mater, 91 Sept. 18. Commander, Task Force 80 and Deputy Commander, U.S. FleeT Forces Command, Gumbleton conducted executive engagement with the President of 91, met with the Peace and War Center, and Navy Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NROTC) students.
